Medicare benefits are available for certain services provided by eligible allied health professionals to people with chronic conditions and complex care needs who are being managed by a GP or medical practitioner using certain Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Medicare items or are enrolled in a Health Care Home.  The allied health services must be recommended in the patient’s plan as part of the management of their chronic condition.

Under an EPC referral entitled patients can access a maximum 5 individual sessions to an allied health professional. Treatment of chronic conditions may require multiple allied health professionals. Please speak to your GP and discuss your eligibility for an EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) referral

Type 2 Diabetic’s may be able assess additional 8xGroup treatment sessions

Exercise Physiology run group program funded by Medicare for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Services are available to individual patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. A GP referral is required to access 8x group program sessions, all referral include an individual initial assessment.

Accredited exercise physiologists can provide exercise physiology (i.e. clinical) treatment services to assist an injured worker to recover following a workplace injury. Referrals should be supported by the GP or specialist, often on a referral form or on a progress medical certificate. The injured worker must have an accepted claim and approval is required from the insurer prior to an initial assessment being performed.

  • Treatment for acute injury/illness/condition
  • Injury management strategies for home and work
  • Return to work program
  • Support while at work until full capacity is reached
